Right on my boi! He would not make more money in New York, the league says what he can make out of the draft, not the team. Also, as you noted they have nothing of value for us. Also in endorsments he wouldnt make more there either. It's the NBA everyone know's everyone and if your good enough they will find you. I do however believe more then ever thy took him with the expectation of trading him at some point. They never interviewed him or worked him out. They couldn't think that was going to go over well with him? However, I have always said the lottery is for the teams and players. The teams don't know what number they will pick and the players do not know what team will draft them. Your take on New York is spot on, the weather there is not the best either. Has anyone told the Rubio family about the weather in the states? If you look at NBA teams it's about 50-50 as far as good solid weather year round. Most locations have some inclement weather. Also, if one team is in bad shape more then then our beloved Wolves it's the New York, what a mess! Also closed circuit to the Rubio family, every team that was going to take your team has sucked for the better part of the last 5 to 10 years. There are no quick fixes...... I believe the odds are greater that he never plays for us then that he does play for us but time will tell, we need to let things play out. if he is traded it's not a big deal they will get solid pieces for him. Also it would be quite funny if three or four years from now we find out he was a bust! In an unrelated note, look for the Wild to be active over the next week or so.
