Two Major Stories today in Wolves World… which are the same stories that have been ongoing the past month.
1. Rubio’s Status Update
2. Coaching Update
First off is Ricky Rubio. There have been numerous reports about offers being made from Euro teams (mainly Real Madrid), but Jordi Villacampa, DKV’s President has said that the Wolves are positive that Rubio will play for them this season. This is someone that you would think would be in the know… since he is in the negotiations that have been going on everyday since the draft (and before as well).
Also about Rubio is that he has said he would like to know what he is doing by “the end of the month”, meaning Friday. However, many reports before was that the deadline was for today. His reasoning would be because today is when tryouts for the Spanish national team start. Hopefully this holds true, and he can be ours by the end of the day.
Kahn’s coaching rollercoaster has been a fun ride so far, and we are finally nearing the end. David said that this will be done by the end of last week, and there have been conflicting reports that he has already chosen one of Mark Jackson and Kurt Rambis. I, myself hope it is Rambis, and that he can be a longtime coach here as long as he doesn’t die on the bench. Reports this morning are saying Jackson will be the new coach, but until it’s finalized, I’ll maintain that Rambis is still in the running. The only other coach still being talked about is Alston Turner. Jeff Bzdelik is still being talked about as well, but only as an assistant coach. Most likely if Jackson is the head coach in order for him to have someone with experience next to him on the bench.
