I agree on both points for our players. However, I think you are extremely undervaluing our ability to sign anyone except the superstars that stay where they are. I personally don't know why any of them would leave besides Bosh (to get back to the US) and take on a lesser max deal with any team. I don't even think the marketing ability of New York is that big of a deal. Why would Adrian Peterson be getting all of the national limelight in Minnesota if what is believed to be true was actually truth? Wouldn't we be seeing Brandon Jennings everywhere?

You would have to really want a change of management to leave your current team. And since we can offer a max deal, we should be in the running for anyone that makes that decision.

I'd decline Brewer's option for sure as we could sign him to an affordable deal next year if need be with our cap space. I doubt it would start at the $3.7 million he'd be owed on the option. Personally I don't think Brewer is going to make it, but hopefully he proves me wrong.

I would keep Gomes as well since he's a decent player and signed affordably. A great 8-9th guy on a winning team. He could be packaged in trade with our cap space to a team looking to shed a big salary while still maintaining some respectability while cutting costs. Deng, Iguolodala, etc. Since we have not shot at the big FAs, a trade may be the way to go.
