Ramon Sessions at Nevada
This story is pretty old from an internet story standpoint, but I was waiting for a press conference on this issue from the team. However, it doesn’t seem like on is going to be coming for a few days at least. So instead of breaking down quotes from the presser about how Sessions is going to be used this upcoming season, I will do my own analysis on the Sessions situation. Here are 5 things to take away from the signing:
1. This will NOT take minutes for Flynn. Sessions will be the backup PG and starting SG. Both will receive about 30ish minutes a game and will be able to showcase their skills every night. These are our two premier guards who we want to be getting reps and improving daily. Rambis will do anything he deems necessary to help these players reach their potential. Flynn will still get his shot at being the ROY.
2. This does NOT kill our 2010 cap space. If you really need a reminder of this situation, look at my last post on here. We are only a small amount away from being able to shell out a max deal next year regardless.
3. This does NOT mean Rubio will never play here. Kahn has said all summer that he is only interested in acquiring the BPA right now. Position has nothing to do with it. Sessions had the most talent and potential of anyone we could afford with our 2009 budget that also wouldn’t kill our hopes in 2010. Once Rubio decides he is coming over is when we will make a decision on which player should stay, and who has more value in a trade. Regardless, the signing only helps our team in the long (and short) run.
4. Sessions takes this team from the bottom 3 teams in the league to bottom 10. This may seem horrible, but a #10 pick is still a best case scenario. Before he got here, this team was not looking good. There was less depth and talent than last year (is that possible??), which in most years would make us a bottom 3 team in the league, but there were quite a few ridiculously bad teams last year right alongside us, so we were bottom 6. Now we have a little guard depth, a lot more talent with our guards, and we still have a decent 3 man rotation with our big men.
5. Sessions will inflate other players’ scoring numbers. This one may not be the case for Big Al, who gets most of his points off of set moves, but Sessions is great at setting up others for easy layups while help defenders are switching over to him. Expect Love, Brewer, Hollins, and Gomes to get quite a few easy layups while guards will be set up with wide open 3′s while Sessions is going to the hoop.
The Sessions signing is something I am extremely excited about. I have thought he should be a priority for any rebuilding team since the Free Agency season opened up, and am glad that the Wolves were able to sign such a great asset to the team.
Go Wolves!

Agree with you that Session will be a big asset to the team. I've been a big Sessions fan for the past two seasons and Kahn deserves props for bringing him in.
