Stanley Robinson Scouting Report

by Timberwolves

Name: Stanley Robinson
Ht: 6’9″ Wt: 220
Pos: F Class: Sr.
College: UConn

How would he fit: He would be a nice fit in Minnesota considering the lack of athleticism. I think Robinson will be a nice project as a 4 in the NBA. He might struggle defensively but his jumping ability alone will make him a threat offensively around the basket.

Strengths: Aggressive, explosive, superior athlete, long, lean, and attacking are all words I would use to describe Stanley Robinson’s game. Superior athlete! He has an improving outside jumper. Athletic freak! Terrific leaper who seeks the ball at crunch time, very quick feet for a 4 and average for a 3, above average handle for a 4 and solid handle for a 3. Did I mention is one hell of an athlete? He has improved greatly year to year giving me the impression he is an extremely hard worker. Robinson attacks the glass both on the offensive and defensive sides of the floor. Lastly, he runs the floor very well demonstrating good hustle.

Weaknesses: Robinson has no touch when his back is to the basket. He does not have a definite position (bit of a tweener SF/PF combo). Defensively looks lost defending the perimeter. While he is aggressive, he tends to be overly aggressive leading to very poor shot selection.

Outlook: Robinson has a limited ceiling and is more likely to contribute as a role/bench player and not as a starter when he gets to the league.

Comparable to: Hakim Warrick
