Wizards Drop Wolves 108-99

Here are the highlights of the bitter pill from last night

If there was ever a game Minnesota could win it was last night. Washington was caught in the middle of a whirlwind of trades. Heck they traded their best non-suspended non-gun carrying player Antawn Jamison minutes before the game started. How can you not take advantage of that? I won’t spend much time on this game because today is trade deadline day but let’s get to it.

Like I said needed to happen Big Al did in fact established himself early but of course he continued to stick to his routine of only playing one half per game……I wonder if that is in his contract……Anyway he scored 14 in the first but only 4 in the second while continuing to struggle on the boards. I said they would struggle to defend the length and athleticism of Blatche and McGee, well they did struggle. Of course by struggle I mean they might as well as not even tried. Minnesota surrendered a combined 47 points (33 from Blatche) and 24 rebounds. I am now thoroughly convinced the Wolves cannot guard anyone with a lick of athleticism.

I am also convinced Kurt Rambis is trying to lose games. I say this because I mentioned he needed to restrict the minutes of Hollins, Wilkins, Jawai, etc. and play his best players more (preferably 30+ minutes apiece). Well he limited Hollins and Jawai but instead of giving those minutes to Love and Al he gave Pecherov more minutes than his own Momma would have given him. He then decided Damien Wilkins has been playing so well he deserved damn near 30 minutes of playing time. My biggest problem is he did this in a game Minny lost by 9. Kurt this isn’t hockey bro, you don’t have to change shifts every minute and a half.

Anyway I am done with this game. It is time to focus on the trade deadline today. We’ll see if David Kahn has anything up his sleeve. The interview with Sioux Falls Skyforce Head Coach Tony Fritz should be posted later today. I also have several scouting reports to post in the coming days (Damion James, Craig Brackins, Al-Farouq Aminu, and possibly Derrick Favors). There are a couple of guys (namely Ed Davis and Avery Bradley) I have scouted but I want to scout more because I don’t see anything these scouts see so I want to give them a 3rd chance.
