Wolves Vs. Kings: Keep Your Eyes Open

The Wolves open the 2010-11 season tonight by hosting the Sacramento Kings and the No.5 pick – DeMarcus Cousins.  The Wolves selected Wesley Johnson with the No. 4 pick, not selecting who many thought was the better pick in Cousins.

The Kings and the Wolves are similar as they have Young players who play crucial roles for their teams, are looking to build with young talent, and both are not expected to do to much this season.

While this game may not have the hype as last nights games, they are specific things I will be looking for from both teams.

Kings

  1. How well does Tyreke Evans play off the ball with Beno Udrich?
  2. How deep will head coach Paul Westphal with his bench?
  3. Is Donte Greene a starting SF in the league?
  4. What kind of rotation will we see with Cousins, Jason Thompson, Carl Landry, and Samuel Dalembert (when healthy)?
  5. Did Evans improve his jumper?

Wolves

  1. Who starts at shooting guard?  All signs point to Corey Brewer.
  2. Will Kurt Rambis streamline his rotation?
  3. Can Kevin Love continue his 58% shooting from distance?
  4. Will anyone else get double figure rebounds other than Love?
  5. Who plays back-up PG if Sebastian Telfair is unable to go?

A last to both teams?  Is this the last time both are going to .500?

Injury Reports

Kings

  • Dalembert is out with thigh issues.

Wolves

  • Jonny Flynn is out.
  • Webster is out.
  • Telfair is listed as day-to-day, but is expected to play tonight.

Other Interesting Bits

  • Watch for on the FSN broadcast, how many times Ricky Rubio gets mentioned?
  • How many fans are going to be there?
  • Does David Kahn do an on-air interview?
  • How many times does the Miami Heat get mentioned?

Hope you all enjoy the game, I will be watching the game on my DVR – so that will be fun.
