The Minnesota Timberwolves concluded their 2-game preseason schedule with the Milwaukee Bucks by winning 85-84. The game was played in Milwaukee while the Timberwolves were without Ricky Rubio and J.J. Barea (the #4 J.J. of All-Time). The Timberwolves did not play a particularily great game, shooting around 40% FG’s and turning the ball over 22 times. However, they did end the game on a very positive note, going on a 12-0 run to end the game winning by 1 point.
Kevin Love played well once again, going for his usual double-double (22 points, 16 rebounds). Otherwise, the main positives of the night were the play of guard Malcolm Lee and Ricky Rubio’s Twitter posts. Lee did not light the world on fire, but did prove he belongs with a 9 point, 5 assist, and 4 rebound performance. During the first half, there were times were he was the only Timberwolves player showing life. Lee got a heavy load of minutes while Rubio and Barea sat this one out.
Meanwhile, Rubio was lighting up his Twitter with enthusiam for a game that doesn’t even matter. See below for a few of his tweets from the night. You can tell this guy really wants to win, and really cares about his teammates performance. Say what you will about Rubio’s game, but you cannot quesiton his passion for basketball.
