2012 NBA Finals Dream Match Made

Timberwolves fan or not, this is something everyone would enjoy watching. It’s the 3-time league MVP going up against the 3-time scoring champion. LeBron James from the Miami Heat and Kevin Durant from the Oklahoma City Thunder. One team made it to the NBA Finals last year, and one team fell 3 games short of a berth in last year’s NBA Finals. Both teams fell to the eventual NBA champions. One team defeated the defending champions this postseason. The other is just trying to prevent lightning (alongside the sounds of thunder) from striking twice to them in the NBA Finals. The powerhouse and championship-tested Miami Heat representing the East and the young yet seemingly championship-ready Oklahoma City Thunder. It’s a battle of two teams that will most likely be the two best teams in the coming years in the NBA. With the Celtics soon to be disbanded, the Bulls with an ailing Derrick Rose, the Lakers looking to rebuild, the Spurs in search of a rare big man, the Mavericks no longer willing to compete, and the Pacers and Sixers being too young, the Heat and Thunder are officially the two new best teams in the NBA. Remember 2012, the year a new era begins. It certainly feels different from the previous years. Yes, it is indeed a different era in the NBA now. A younger and quicker era. A new generation of stars are ready to carry on the NBA torch. The 2012 NBA Finals truly represents what kind of “new era” I’m talking about.

My prediction: Thunder in 6
