The Wolves fall 108-100 to the Houston Rockets after a great first half. The Wolves couldn’t hold off the Houston Rockets after a forcing 15 first half turnovers for 20 points as they cruised to a 57–39 halftime lead. The Wolves defense limited the Rockets from being able to drive to the hoop in the first half, and the lack of the Rockets defense all together, allowed the Wolves to convert at will.
The Wolves had great ball movement in the first half (17 team assists) and all nine active players score. The Wolves shot 55% from the field and held the Rockets to 29% shooting from 3.
The second half was a completely different story for both teams. The Rockets turned things around, and had only 3 turnovers in the entire second half. The Rockets finished the game shooting 36% from 3 and 49% from the field. The Wolves on the other hand, tried to play the second half at the Rockets pace and were outscored 69-43. The Wolves ended the game shooting 48% from the field and 25% from 3.
The ball movement for the Wolves also stopped, as they only had 8 assists in the second half. James Harden was a huge factor in the second half and started getting to the line at a high rate finishing 16-18 from the free throw line. The Wolves as a team went to the line 20 timesmaking 16.
The Wolves were led in scoring by JJ Berea and Derrick Williams with 19. 5 other Wolves finished in double figures including Ricky Rubio who ended with 14 points. Ricky also had 7 rebounds, 7 assists 2 steals and 1 blocked shot.
The Wolves will try and snap their current 2 game losing streak at The Target Center on Sunday against the New Orleans Hornets at 7 pm.
