The Wolves get Rick Adelman his 1,000th career win

The Wolves get Rick Adelman his 1,000th career win.  There is another member to the 1,000 win club, as Rick Adelman became the 8th member as he picked up this honor when his Minnesota Timberwolves held on for a 107-101 victory on Saturday night against the Detroit Pistons to improve to 30-47 on the season.

The Wolves had to with stand a late push from the Pistons in the final minutes of the game to earn the victory. The Wolves were able to hit their free throws down the stretch this time where they shot 76% on 28 free throw attempts on the night. The Wolves ability to force turn overs was a major key to the game. The Wolves forced the Pistons into 24 turnovers for the game and allowed the Wolves to negate the Pistons 53% shooting from the floor.
The Wolves had 7 players in double figure scoring and were led by JJ Berea and Nikola Pekovic who each had 20 points, Pek also had his 26th double double of the season, as he grabbed 13 rebounds. The Wolves got 14 from Derrick Williams, and 13 from Dante Cunningham and Andrei Kirilenko. Chase Budinger and Ricky Rubio each had 10 points, Ricky also had 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals.

The Wolves will have a couple days off before they travel out west to take on the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday with a 9:30pm tip.
