Kevin Love's Season is Over

First off, in the world of amateur basketball this is a foul?

I guess it’s good to know the world of refereeing is kind of in the same state all over. Tough break, Burke. Michigan.

Not Earth-shattering news, but news all the same

The Timberwolves announced Monday that forward Kevin Love will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee that is expected to sideline him for four-to-six weeks.

The surgery, which will remove a buildup of scar tissue, will end his 2012-13 season, although he was already sidelined with a previous hand injury.

This marks the second surgery of the season for Love, who made just 18 appearances this season for the lottery-bound Timberwolves.

Again, not a terrible shock that Love will miss the rest of the season, but it is a concern as to whether Love shows up as an Olympian or Doughboy for the 2013-2014 season. If Derrick

Williams was looking over his shoulder, he can stop for now.

Two days ago, the NBA issued a warning to Ricky Rubio for flopping on this play:

Anyone who has watched the Wolves this season has seen worse flailings from JJ Barea or those trying to guard Pek, but Ricky’s is of note as he is far and away the NBA’s leader in charges drawn. It’s worth paying attention to how the league adjusts its officiating to Rubio’s defense.
