After a few disappointing seasons, the Minnesota Timberwolves could be in a position to see their first winning season since 2004-2005 this year. If starts Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio can stay healthy for a full season, the Timberwolves have a reason to be optimistic for the first time in a long time. Fans are also sharing the optimism as Minnesota Timberwolves tickets have increased in price over last season. Tickets on the secondary market are averaging $71.16 this season, a 10.63% percent increase over last season’s $64.32 season. Minnesota’s top games of the season all have well above average prices.
1) 2/4/14 vs Los Angeles Lakers | Avg Price: $192 | Get-in Price: $18
The Los Angeles Lakers first of two trips to the Target Center this season has an average ticket price 169% above the regular season average. This Tuesday night game features the second highest get-in price for Minnesota home games this season.
2) 3/28/14 vs Los Angeles Lakers | Avg Price: $190 | Get-in Price: $19
The second trip into Minnesota for the Lakers features the highest get-in price of the top three, but with a slightly lower average price than the first game between these two teams. This Friday night game at the end of March has only five home games to follow at the end of the regular season.
3) 3/5/14 vs New York Knicks | Avg Price: $186 | Get-in Price: $12
The final top game for the Timberwolves features the New York Knicks. The Knicks only come to the Target Center once this season and it’s for a Wednesday night game to be nationally televised. Tickets for this game are 161% over the average home Timberwolves ticket this season.
4) 12/7/13 vs Miami Heat | Avg Price: $184 | Get-in Price: $36
The Champion Miami Heat make their lone visit to Minny on December 12th for the 4th most expensive game of the season. Miami Heat tickets are alway the hottest ticket around the league so it’s actually surprising that they’re not number one of this list. This game does, however, have the highest get-in price of any on the list and an average price 159% above the TWolves home avg.
5) 1/4/14 vs Oklahoma City Thunder | Avg Price: $175 | Get-in Price: $18
Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the rest of the Oklahoma City Thunder make their second trip to the Target Center on January 4th. Like the Heat, OKC Thunder tickets are always in high demand in every road city they visit, and at $175 per ticket, this game comes in at 146% above the Timberwolves 2013-14 home average. Cheaper seats start at $18.
Success aside, the Love-Rubio combination could make this the most exciting Timberwolves to watch in recent memory. Add in the possibility of a successful season and it’s easy to see why there is a sense of optimism around this team. Make sure to get your Timberwolves tickets and don’t miss out on the excitement.
