Both the Clippers and Wolves are coming off losses. The Wolves lost 104-100 in Washington Tuesday night while the Clippers lost to the Grizzlies 106-102 at home on Monday evening. Interesting fact from the AP: after Monday’s loss, the Clippers have failed to win a game in which they’ve scored fewer than 107 points. In case you needed more convincing, the Clippers rank 29th in points allowed coming into Target Center tonight, giving up over 105 per contest.
Clippers probable starting lineup:
Pg Chris Paul
Sg JJ Redick
Sf Jared Dudley
Pf Blake Griffin
C DeAndre Jordan
The problem is the Clips get as well as they give — better actually — scoring a league-best 109.3 points per game.
CP3 is averaging 16 points, 13 assists and 6 rebounds (to go with 3 steals) a game over his last 5 games.
Jordan is averaging 14 rebounds and over 2.5 blocks a game over his last 5.
Wolves probable starting lineup:
Pg Ricky Rubio
Sg Kevin Martin
Sf Corey Brewer
Pf Kevin Love
C Nikola Pekovic
After looking disinterested or, understandably, fatigued against the Wizards, motivation shouldn’t be a factor tonight, as the 107-109 loss in Los Angeles is less than ten days old. Love scored big in the first quarter in Washington, but he only scored 9 points over the final 3. Ricky’s early foul trouble forced Rick Adelman to sit him early and then he chose to sit Ricky late, limiting him to 19 minutes in the game. Fatigue shouldn’t be as big a concern on this second night of a back-to-back.
Martin’s shot 33 and 23% over the last two games, but gave Redick fits on his way to 30 points the last time the Wolves faced the Clippers.
