The Houston Rockets haven’t played since their 123-120 collapse against the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night. During that loss Houston held an 18-point lead in the third quarter before Dallas stormed back, closing the game on a 9-1 run.
The Rockets lead the league in scoring at almost 110 points per contest, but turn right around and give up the second most points in the league at almost 106 a night. Before the Dallas debacle Houston had won three straight over New York, Denver and Boston. They have losses to the Lakers, Philly and Clipper (twice).
Rockets probable starting lineup
PG Patrick Beverley
SG James Harden
SF Chandler Parsons
PF Terrence Jones
C Dwight Howard
Harden, Parsons and Howard are all averaging over 35 minutes a game on the season. Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik are gone from the Rockets starting lineup after starting 5 and 8 games. Asik actually has asked to be moved to a new team where he will see some minutes, though he may see some time against the Wolves tonight. Lin has still averaged over 16 points in 30 minutes coming off the bench.
Wolves probable starting lineup:
PG Ricky Rubio
SG Kevin Martin
SF Corey Brewer
PF Kevin Love
C Nikola Pekovic
The minimal resistance in every aspect of the Brooklyn game, I just don’t know what you can take away from such a lackluster effort like the one the Nets gave the Wolves last night. I mean, the Wolves shot 41% from the field and 30% from three. Martin scored 17 points on 16 shots, while Love had 17 points on 11 shots (to go with 16 rebounds). Corey hit 3-6 threes. Ricky hit 2 of 3. Pek was active. No one played more than Martin’s 31 minutes so everyone should be ready to run tonight.
