The Oklahoma City Thunder limp to Minneapolis to play the Minnesota Timberwolves on a two-game losing streak after losing to the Brooklyn Nets and the Portland Trail Blazers at home. The loss to the Brooklyn, particularly baffling, as Kevin Durant and Reggie Jackson both attempted 13 shots.
OKC hasn’t played since Thursday and Russell Westbrook hasn’t played since the Thunder’s Christmas Day win over the New York Knicks. He’s out until after the All-Star break.
Reggie Jackson filled in for Westbrook earlier this season. He had 7 turnovers in the second game of the season’s 100-81 loss at the Target Center.
Jackson is averaging 13 points, just under 5 assists, 4 rebounds and half a steal while shooting 36% from the field over his last 5 games.
Likely Thunder starters:
PG Reggie Jackson
SG Thabo Sefolosha
SF Kevin Duratn
PF Serge Ibaka
C Kendrick Perkins
Don’t be fooled by the Brooklyn game, Kevin Durant is carrying the load for OKC. Durant usually shoots 20 times a night, playing 37 minutes and averaging 30 points, 10 rebounds and just under 5 assists a game over the last five.
Jeremy Lamb is averaging almost a three and a half a game on 44% shooting from deep to go with 12 points, almost 4 rebounds and a steal and a block on 54% shooting in just under 23 minutes a game over the last five.
Kendrick Perkins is averaging 20 minutes a game and is averaging more fouls (3.1) than points (2.5) over the last ten games.
Likely Wolves starters:
PG Ricky Rubio
SG Kevin Martin
SF Corey Brewer
PF Kevin Love
C Nikola Pekovic
Pek and Rubio sat out practice with “little injuries” yesterday, but are expected to play.
