Wolves Struggle Past Golden State in 121-120 Win

With under ten seconds to go and the Wolves down by one, Kevin Martin hoisted up the shot from the baseline and it fell to give the Wolves a one point lead.  On the other end of the court, the Timberwolves double teamed Stephen Curry who passed off to Harrison Barnes for a wide open two point jumper that clanged off the rim.

Newly elected All Star starters, Kevin Love and Stephen Curry, definitely proved they should be there in this game.  Love had 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists just falling short of a triple double.  Curry 33 points and 15 assists while showing off his range shooting 6-10(60%) from behind the arc.

Kevin Martin also had 26 points to go along with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Nikola Pekovic’s streak of good games continues with a 22 point, 14 rebound effort.  Corey Brewer had a solid game with 15 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals, along with three makes from behind the arc.  Ricky Rubio was the only starter to not reach 10 points, but he did contribute with 9 points, 12 assists, and 4 steals.  The Wolves bench was serviceable, racking up 23 points on the night. Alexey Shved led the way off the bench with 7 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal off the pine.

Playing against the Warriors, known for their perimeter shooting, the Wolves stepped up their game and shot 9-22 (40%) from downtown.  However, that success did not translate to the charity stripe as the Wolves only managed to knockdown 64% of their free throws.

David Lee had 26 points and 7 rebounds.  Klay Thompson had 18 points as both he and David Lee try to squeak onto the All Star roster.  Andre Iguodala had 16 points and 5 rebounds.  Andrew Bogut tied his career high 7 blocks to go along with 8 points and 11 rebounds.  Off the bench, Marreese Speights had 10 points and 4 boards.

In the fourth quarter, Andrew Bogut and David Lee both were injured but against the Indiana Pacers on Friday night..  Bogut strained his right knee, and Lee sprained his left shoulder.  Alexey Shved also played with a mask on his face due to his broken nose.
