NBA Playoffs update: Thunder, Pacers advance

In thrilling fashion, the Oklahoma City Thunder advanced past the Los Angeles Clippers and into the Western Conference Semifinals on Thursday night by a final score of 104-98.

Kevin Durant was once again reliable, putting up a 39 point, 15 rebound, 5 assist performance over the course of 44 minutes. He didn’t receive a ton of help, as Russell Westbrook shot just 4 of 15 from the field en route to a 19 point, 12 assist to go along with 5 personal fouls and 5 turnovers in 39 minutes. Chris Paul led the Clippers with 25 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds.

In the early game on Thursday, the Indiana Pacers also won a road game to advance over the Washington Wizards. In a game that summed up the series nicely with it’s relative lack of scoring, the Pacers ultimately emerged with a 93-80 victory. David West scored a game-high 29 points, and nobody else on the Pacers managed to score more than Lance Stephenson‘s 17 points.

The updated bracket is above, and we’re left with three of the four finalists from a year ago, and the same final four teams that most people would have predicted we’d see when the postseason began a month ago.

The NBA Draft Combine continues today with on-court drills, and the Wolves’ coaching search marches on as well. Stay tuned for any updates on either process.
