Sunday morning news, notes, and links: Delonte West a possibility?

Happy Father’s Day, everyone. Let’s take a quick spin around the league and check out some Wolves-related news, notes, and links, including the possibility of Delonte West linking up with the Timberwolves.

Flip Saunders appeared on Dan Barreiro’s show on KFAN in the Twin Cities this morning. Some notes about the visit can be found here on KFAN’s Rube Chat.

In summary, it sounds like Saunders downplayed the possibility of Love being moved on draft night, and also discussed the advantage to acquiring known quantities in a Love trade versus simply taking back draft picks. He also apparently bristled at the mention of Golden State as a trade partner.

Delonte West is looking to make a return to the NBA, and says that his agent has spoken to the Wolves about West. Despite the distractions that he has come with throughout his career, West has always been at worst a league-average contributer. He’d be a nice pick as a third or fourth guard for the Wolves, allowing them to move J.J. Barea to another team.

Tonight is Game 5 of the NBA Finals, as the Spurs try and close out the reigning back-to-back champion Miami Heat in San Antonio. Check back here later today for another potential Kevin Love trade proposal.
