Over the weekend, Ricky Rubio and Gorgui Dieng worked out a friendly wager over their respective countries’ exhibition game in preparation for the upcoming FIBA World Cup. Things got nasty between the two usually-civil teammates.
Spain was always going to destroy Senegal, but Ricky still lured poor Gorgui into his web.
@GorguiDieng are you ready for tonight? I take bets. Loser pays the dinner? Dont be scared now!!!!!!

Alas, Spain defeated Senegal rather handily, 88-49. And you better believe that Rubio will be cashing in on his winnings.
Dinner on me tonight son @rickyrubio9 lol Way to play tho. You are a beast!

But that wasn’t enough for Ricky, who is apparently a savage.

Okay, maybe he’s not quite as ruthless as he was beginning to let on. He did finish his taunt by adding a “Jk”, since he’s Ricky Rubio and he’s really a nice, wonderful person.
At any rate, Spain is dominating as expected, and the tournament will likely come down to a Spain-United States match-up when it’s all said and done. Here’s hoping for continued relative health for all of the teams involved. And that Rubio and Dieng can find some much-needed rest between the conclusion of the World Cup and the start of Wolves’ training camp in a little over a month.
As a reminder: Wiggins Day is this coming Saturday, August 23rd. Appropriately, of course, since Wiggins is the next Michael Jordan. Or something.
Enjoy your Monday.
