April is almost upon us, which means as Timberwolves fans, it is time to start thinking about next season. Ever since Kevin Garnett‘s departure, Wolves fans are pretty accustomed to kicking the proverbial can a couple years down the road at a time, always yearning for a a brighter future.

I remember when I was in high school I’d shoot hoops on my driveway pretending to be the Wolves. In my mind, a few years from that time, Michael Beasley, Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, and Nikola Pekovic were going to be part of a dynamic Timberwolves team that would be playoff bound for years to come.

Delusional.

I always tried to convince myself that the Wolves had finally figured it out and were putting some pieces together. Looking back, I think it was just a defense mechanism to cope with how abysmal my favorite NBA team was.

Alas, five years later, I once again am hopeful for the future — and I’m not alone. The Wolves finally seem to have some sense of direction. If Flip Saunders can find a competent coach this summer and he hits on Minnesota’s lottery pick, I’ll finally have some real hope for the Timberwolves’ future.

In this post, I’m going to break down position-by-position the Wolves roster going into next season. Scroll to the right to find out who I think is staying in Minnesota, who I think is leaving, and why.
