This is the first piece of a series of NBA Draft Profiles that will look at prospects that the Timberwolves have shown interest in and may eventually draft in the 2015 NBA Draft. The first profile will look at Karl-Anthony Towns of Kentucky.

Our Minnesota Timberwolves won the NBA Draft Lottery one week ago, proving that the basketball gods don’t completely hate Minnesota after all. With this first pick, the Timberwolves will likely be choosing between a couple of very talented big men that could make an immediate impact on this team.

In his only college season playing for John Calipari at the University of Kentucky, Karl-Anthony Towns flashed his incredible talent throughout the season despite his small amount of minutes. He became arguably the most talented player on Kentucky’s roster and led them to an undefeated regular season and a birth in the NCAA Final Four before falling to Wisconsin.

With Towns likely sitting at first or second on the draft boards of the Timberwolves front office, I felt like this was a good spot to start our series of draft profiles.
