At long last, the NBA is upon us once again.

With the preseason completed, and the regular season beginning this week, we can finally turn our TVs on to see basketball, and, eventually, the race for the playoffs.

In the Western Conference, there’s more than enough talent to go around: the Golden State Warriors and reigning MVP Stephen Curry, are coming off of a championship, the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets both made huge acquisitions in the off-season, the Oklahoma City Thunder have Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Although many of the teams have the talent to compete for the playoffs, the question boils down to this: which ones will get in?

Here is an objective view by a Minnesota Timberwolves fan — who knows his team may not have much of a chance at the playoffs — at what the Western Conference standings might look like at the end of the upcoming regular season.
