With less than half the season left to play, it’s never too early to gander at the Timberwolves’ draft board for the upcoming draft.

Barring some sort of unforeseen surge to the playoffs, the Minnesota Timberwolves will more than likely enjoy another lottery selection in the 2016 draft. In fact, they may even have a shot at the number-one overall pick yet again, depending on how they finish the rest of the season.

Of course, the Wolves could also lose their pick if they fall out of the top-12 in the draft lottery. As of now, it’s safe to say that won’t happen as the Wolves are currently tied for the fourth-worst record in the NBA. Falling out of the top-12 should not be a fear for Wolves fans.

Although it’s frustrating to see the Wolves lose this season, it does open the door for another promising youngster to come to Minnesota. This year’s crop of talent is no doubt impressive, and the Wolves have a good shot at getting a solid player with their pick.

I came up with some prospects that, at this point, should be on the Wolves’ radar. Along with that, I have each player’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as a current NBA player comparison. We’ll begin with the most coveted asset in this year’s draft.
