4. Ramon Sessions – Washington Wizards

Sessions had a surprisingly fantastic sophomore season with the Milwaukee Bucks after being selected in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft, leading to a significant free agent deal with David Kahn and the Timberwolves, who were in the process of cornering the market on point guards.

He played in 82 miserable games for the horrible, 15-win 2009-10 Wolves. Of course, Kurt Rambis was the head coach and had little to no interest in attempting to develop young point guards, and Sessions was not set up for success.

After struggling in essentially every facet of the game for the Wolves, Sessions has bounced from Cleveland to the Lakers to Charlotte and back to Milwaukee before signing with Sacramento this season. He was terrible for a frustrating Kings team early in the year before being shipped to the Washington Wizards for Andre Miller by new Sacramento head coach George Karl.

Sessions has been great with Washington, suddenly making open shots and generally keeping his turnover rate fairly low. The career 31.2% three-point shooter has hit at a 40.6% clip with the Wizards while attempting just over one three-pointer per game.

He’s playing 19.5 minutes off the bench for Washington and will be a key piece in the first round match-up against an equally deep Toronto Raptors squad.
