This is the fifth piece of a series of NBA Draft Profiles that will look at prospects that the Timberwolves have shown interest in and may eventually draft in the 2015 NBA Draft. The fifth profile will look at Rashad Vaughn of UNLV.

Rashad Vaughn is another prospect in this NBA Draft class who played his high school ball in Minnesota. Vaughn played at Robbinsdale-Cooper High School before taking his talents to UNLV.

Our Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly shown plenty of interest in Vaughn. According to Darren Wolfson of KSTP Sports and ESPN 1500, the Timberwolves have interviewed Vaughn and will likely hold an individual workout with Vaughn in June.

Most mock drafts have Vaughn being drafted either late in the first round or early in the second round. The Timberwolves own the first pick in the second round, and there’s a good chance the Wolves grab him there if he’s available. Also, there have been some rumors swirling about the Wolves’ interest in trading up into the middle or end of the first round. Could they be targeting Vaughn?

Vaughn became one of the better scorers in college basketball last season at UNLV, as he led the team in scoring and helped them to a final record of 18-15. Although his team failed to reach the NCAA Tournament, Vaughn was able to get his name on the map in terms of NBA scouting.
