13. Stephon Marbury

Before we delve into Stephon Marbury’s Wolves career I just want to get out of the way that this man was traded on draft day for Ray Allen.

As in the Wolves had Ray Allen, but traded him for Marbury. Which is significant because Marbury did not even play three full seasons in Minnesota before he was traded to New Jersey. I’m just saying, you have to assume Ray Allen would have stuck around for awhile.

Anyway, Marbury had two nice seasons in Minnesota before he got tired of being the Robin to Kevin Garnett’s Batman. I think that right there illustrates Marbury’s Wolves career: yes, he was a good player, but his attitude left a lot to be desired. If he would have found his role as the second best player on that team his whole career would have turned out differently. Alas, it did not.
