32, 21, and 5
This is easily my favorite game of all time. It literally had everything you could ask for.
A Game Seven, at home, against one of the best teams in the West. That year’s MVP against Chris Webber, Mike Bibby against Sam Cassell, Peja Stojakovic vs. Latrell Sprewell. Just pure awesomeness!
For his part, Kevin Garnett was unreal. He had 32 points, 21 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the Timberwolves’ to the Western Conference Finals. Garnett’s crossover against Chris Webber at the 6:07 mark in the video below still gives me the chills. Just unbelievable.
And who can forget Sam Cassell and his “big balls dance” after he hit the big shot. Flip Saunders certainly hasn’t.
We haven’t made the playoffs since.
