#2 – Wolves @ Los Angeles Lakers – Wednesday, October 28th
The Wolves open the season on the road with the second game of ESPN’s first doubleheader of the year. The season itself technically opens up the night before, but for all intents and purposes, this is the NBA’s season kick-off and the Wolves are part of the festivities.
Add in the match-up of number-one pick Karl-Anthony Towns and number-two pick D’Angelo Russell facing off, any peripheral storylines regarding Kobe Bryant‘s debut coming against the Wolves in L.A. back in 1996, or even the Lakers originating in Minneapolis, and this nationally-televised season-opener will certainly be much-anticipated and should be fun to watch.
Conclusions can’t be drawn from this game, of course, being that it will be the opener for both teams, but that doesn’t take away from the anticipation or expectations heading into the contest.
