Shabazz Muhammad
Shabazz Muhammad is a very talented bench player, and I (of course), went bold and predicted that he would win the Sixth Man of the Year next season. Shabazz has showed dedication in the off-season, but has also suffered injuries during the regular season which has hindered his development to some extent.
Shabazz has two years left on his deal before he enters restricted free agency in the summer of 2017. Shabazz will be a player looking to score big money in the summer of 2017. Teams that will be interested in him and teams that will appeal to him could be both teams that call Los Angeles home, based on where he trains and where he went to college.
Also, Shabazz strikes me as a player who could be overpaid. You see it during every free agency period, and he could be the one that gets the undeserved money in 2017. A Los Angeles team will overpay him and start him. Then, his defensive flaws will be more noticeable than they appear now, which will lead to his contract looking terrible.
Result: You can not pay everyone. Wiggins will get paid, LaVine probably gets paid, and that leaves….Shabazz. Shabazz signs in L.A. in restricted free agency and the Wolves don’t match.
