Successful careers in the NBA are not built on talent alone. They take hard work, longevity, and a bit of luck.

Even on a roster that is loaded with young players, the Wolves have three players that know this well in Tayshaun Prince, Andre Miller, and, of course, Kevin Garnett.

These players have played for a long time in the NBA, with Prince being the shortest tenured with “just” 13 seasons under his belt. These players have accumulated a variety of stats through their careers, ranging from points to assists to games played. Although Garnett was the only true superstar among the trio, the other two had enough talent, determination, and luck to last a long time in the NBA and pile up some numbers.

On the other hand, Ricky Rubio has only played four seasons but is already looking to reach some statistical milestones this season. His detractors like to criticize him for his shooting ability, but he is already well on his way on becoming one of the best assist men the league has ever seen along with being a sneaky-good defender.

The Wolves also have plenty of younger talent that will most likely amass some serious numbers (and hopefully wins) during their careers. Most of those players are years from reaching any significant milestones, however.

With all the recognition the young guys are going to get for their progress this year, let’s turn our attention to some statistical thresholds that the older guys on the roster can reach in this upcoming season.
