30 Greatest Moments In Timberwolves History

#19 – Kevin Garnett’s Clutch Shooting Downs Kings

The 2003-04 season was the best in Timberwolves history. The 58 wins and a Western Conference Finals appearance are the reasons why, of course, but Kevin Garnett won the NBA Most Valuable Player award and took no prisoners along the way.

One of the first monster performances of the season for The Big Ticket came on December 3rd in Sacramento. Garnett finished with 33 points, 25 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 blocks, and a steal with only one turnover in 50 minutes, propelling the Wolves to an overtime win on the road over the Sacramento Kings. It came on a night when the Wolves only had eight players appear due to a rash of injuries, and only seven players played more than nine minutes.

But the final line isn’t why this regular season performance from Garnett landed at #19 on the countdown. The back-to-back threes in the waning moments of what had been a six-point game is why. If you already watched the above video, please, watch it again.

And here’s a highlight package with all of Garnett’s points in the game if you have a few extra moments.
