#8 – Kevin Garnett Wins MVP Honors at 2003 All-Star Game

Kevin Garnett had a monster year in 2002-03, as mentioned back at #17 and again in #10, but prior to the acquisitions of Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell and the magical 2003-04 season, Garnett solidified himself on the national stage as not just an All-Star but as a superstar and top-three player in the league with a monster All-Star Game performance.

The 2003 NBA All-Star Game was held in Atlanta and the Western Conference won in double overtime by the final score of 155-145. The lengthened game gave Garnett ample time to rack up 37 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals and win MVP honors.

The 2003 game was also significant because it was Michael Jordan’s last, although this time around he was representing the Washington Wizards.
