#1 – Timberwolves Defeat Kings In Game 7

The Minnesota Timberwolves had never won a playoff series as a franchise prior to the 2003-04 season. That changed when they entered the playoffs as the top seed and defeated the Denver Nuggets in five games in the opening round.

The Wolves were then matched up with the fourth-seed Sacramento Kings who had been to the Western Conference Finals just two years prior and were perennial visitors to the second round. It went to seven games, and basketball fans were treated to a fantastic series. The above video features Garnett’s best moments of the deciding Game 7, but there is a video of the game in it’s entirety if you’re so inclined.

It’s the last time the Timberwolves won a playoff series, and save for a pair of wins in the conference finals loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, it’s the most-recent playoff win to this day for the franchise. It’s a streak that should end soon, at least relative to the now 12 years and counting drought.

But enjoy Game 7. It was a dandy. Here’s hoping for more excitement like this in the very near future.
