30 Greatest Moments In Timberwolves History

#27 – Rick Adelman Reaches 1000 Career Wins
When Adelman joined the Timberwolves with 945 career wins on his resume, he surely did not think it would take nearly two full years to reach the 1,000 win benchmark.
But the lockout shortened 2011-12 campaign and the injury-riddled 2012-13 season delayed the feat into April of 2013. The Wolves managed to beat the Detroit Pistons at home by a final score of 107-101 behind 20 points and 13 rebounds from Nikola Pekovic and a combined 12 steals from a still-recovering Ricky Rubio and an aging Andrei Kirilenko.
It was kind of a bittersweet moment as a once-promising season had been sabotaged by weird injuries, a less-than-full-speed Rubio, and health troubles for Adelman’s wife that caused him to leave the team a few times during the year.
Love only played in 18 games and wasn’t on the floor for the milestone, but it was nonetheless a special moment for Adelman, his family, and the entire Timberwolves organization.
