Why Portland says “yes”: The Blazers are in the middle of the pack in terms of team points per game. Besides Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, they don’t have a lot options on offense. Martin, again, brings offense in some capacity, and the Blazers need it.

Terry Stotts’ system is based on a run-and-gun offense, and defense is secondary. Martin fits in with that system, especially in terms of transition three pointers.

Why Minnesota says “yes”: In Charlotte, Henderson was a 12-15 point per-game scorer, but since coming to Portland he’s seen his scoring drop. He fits in with the Timberwolves because he is a solid defender.

Whatever he may lack in offense he gets it back on defense, and the Wolves are looking to build a defensive culture. Henderson may not stick around for the long haul in Minnesota, but in the short term, he’d be a good defensive fit in for the Wolves.
