Why Utah says “maybe”: Utah really likes Hood, so it would take some convincing to give him up. However, the Jazz do need offense; they are 28th in the league in points per game. As good as Hood is, he’s not exactly a dynamo on the offensive end, and one constant I’m sure you’ve noticed is that all these teams need offense in some capacity. That is what Martin brings to the table.

Another aspect that may hold it up is Utah’s defensive culture. Martin obviously doesn’t bring that, but if the Jazz truly want offense, this is a deal to think about.

Why Minnesota says “yes”: Like I said, Hood isn’t an offensive dynamo, but he is a steady two-way player. He has a good defensive rating, and that could again bolster the Wolves defense, and he could add a little offense here and there.

Hood is also 23 years old, so all of this filters in to the Wolves young culture. The only hang-up would be trying to get Zach LaVine and Hood the correct amount of minutes as Hood is currently a starter for Utah.
