#11 – Zach LaVine, UCLA, #15 in 2014 draft

This draft pick was controversial at the time but is probably becoming more palatable with each passing game that LaVine plays, and that’s why we’re going to slide him into the top-10 at…#11.

To this point he’s only played in 96 career contests, including an overall disappointing rookie season but a solid 19 games to start the 2015-16 campaign. He’s still being miscast as a point guard but has looked very good as a catch-and-shoot, offensive spark plug shooting guard, especially next to Ricky Rubio.

LaVine’s ceiling remains inescapably high and it’s hard to see him being worse than he was a rookie. If he adds some defensive consistency to his game, it’s very likely that he becomes a solid starting two-guard if not an All-Star-caliber player some day down the road.

The reason why this pick still sits at #10 is that it could still go either direction and it’s simply too early to know for sure what the Timberwolves have in LaVine.
