Wolves trade Muhammad to Atlanta for Kent Bazemore (ESPN Trade Machine)

Why Atlanta says “yes”: Atlanta is good all-around team, but on occasion they lack offensive output. Muhammad, as we know, is a solid offensive player who can run in transition, draw fouls, and finish at the rim. I’m sure any team would be willing to bring on a player like Muhammad.

A factor that goes overlooked in Muhammad’s game is his ability to rebound. He has the rebounding prowess of a power forward, and Atlanta is in the bottom ten in rebounding rate (48.1). Muhammad could perhaps aid in that area.

Why Minnesota says “yes”: Bazemore has flown below the radar so far this season. However, he is starting for the Hawks and is averaging nearly 12 points per game. Bazemore is also a great perimeter defender, who is tasked with guarding the oppositions best player on a nightly basis.

The Wolves do not necessarily have a star on perimeter defense. Bazemore could quite possibly become that in Minnesota. He’s also a decent three-point shooter, and that is something the Wolves are always in need of.
