Wolves trade Muhammad to Boston for Jared Sullinger (ESPN Trade Machine)

Why Boston says “yes”: Beyond Jae Crowder, the Celtics are relatively weak at small forward. If they were to bring on Muhammad, it would bolster that position. Muhammad could even take the place of Jared Sullinger at an undersized power forward.

When you think about it Sullinger himself is an undersized power forward. Muhammad has bulked up, and is a good rebounder it wouldn’t be entirely out of the question to put him at the four-spot.

Why Minnesota says “yes”: I’ve always thought Sullinger is an interesting, versatile player. He can play down low and rebounds the ball fairly well. He can also step out and knock down a jump shot, including the occasional three-pointer.

Sullinger would be an interesting piece alongside Nemanja Bjelica on the Wolves second unit. There would be a number of mix-and-match combinations that Sam Mitchell could put together with that pair of versatile players.
