20 Best Individual Performances in Timberwolves History

#5 – November 12, 2010 – Kevin Love: 31 points, 31 rebounds, 5 assists, one block

The Timberwolves headed into the 2010-11 with Kurt Rambis as their head coach. He wasn’t exactly sold on the idea of Kevin Love being the best player on the roster, and he made sure that everyone was aware of his thoughts on the matter.

But November 12, 2010, everything changed. Kevin Love scored 31 points and pulled 31 rebounds in 40 minutes of play, dominating the New York Knicks’ front line of Amar’e Stoudemire and Danilo Gallinari. in fact, guard Landry Fields was the high-rebounder on the Knicks’ squad with just 10 boards.

Love’s performance was of historic proportions, no doubt. But he did shoot just 11 of 26 from the field (12 of his rebounds were offensive and he played a lot of volleyball to himself in the paint), and neither team was very good.

So in it’s proper context, this is still a top-five game in Wolves history. It just can’t rank any higher than #5.
