#3 – January 29, 2007 – Kevin Garnett: 44 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists

The Phoenix Suns came into this game against the Wolves riding 17-game winning streak and holding a 36-8 record overall behind the trio of Steve Nash, Amar’e Stoudemire, and Shawn Marion. The Timberwolves were in the midst of their final season with in-his-prime Kevin Garnett but treading water at one game underneath the .500-mark.

Garnett stepped up to the plate to lead a very mediocre supporting cast to a win over the Suns by having an ultra-efficient game from the field. He shot 18 of 29 on field goal attempts and 8 of 10 on free throws.

The sheer domination of Stoudemire was perhaps the most impressive aspect of the game as the Suns’ star scored only five point on five shots and pulled down just four rebounds as the 17-game winning streak came to an end.

It was more or less Garnett’s swan song in Minnesota, as he would be traded only months later.
