20 Best Individual Performances in Timberwolves History
By Ben Beecken
#16 – April 23, 2001 – Terrell Brandon – 27 points, 16 assists, 10 rebounds, 2 steals, one block
When Stephon Marbury forced his way out of Minnesota, Terrell Brandon was the steady-handed point guard that the Timberwolves received in return.
Brandon’s 16 assists are the most in any single game in franchise history. Not only that, he shot 11 of 14 from the field and nailed all three of this three-point attempts on the night.
Brandon certainly wasn’t a spectacular player by any stretch of the imagination, but teamed up with Kevin Garnett (23 points, six rebounds, four assists) on this night to lead the 33-23 Timberwolves to a home win over the 15-40 Golden State Warriors.
This was Brandon’s second-to-last NBA season as his career was cut short during his age-31 season due to injury. The Wolves, for their part, finished the season with a 47-35 record before losing in four games to the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs.
