I wish the Wolves would acquire a backup point guard to relieve some of the pressure on Ricky Rubio.

This could potentially be solved with a resolution to my first Christmas wish as the Wolves could definitely get a serviceable back-up point guard in exchange for Kevin Martin.

Now, I love Professor Andre Miller as much as anyone, and I think he’s played well this season. However, I don’t think he should be playing an extensive number of minutes, and apparently, neither does Sam Mitchell.

Getting a viable back-up to Rubio opens the door for other things to happen in the Wolves rotation (as we’ll see shortly in Wish #3). If the Wolves were to trade Martin for a backup, here are just a few names that could be possibilities:

If the Wolves need one thing on the current roster, it’s a backup point guard. And they could likely kill two birds with one stone by trading Martin for one.
