I wish Zach LaVine was the starting shooting guard.

The first three wishes are relatively interconnected; if the Wolves trade for back-up point guard, this leaves the shooting guard spot for LaVine. I wrote on this last week, as it’s clear LaVine is the Wolves third-best scoring option.

In the month of December, LaVine is only playing 23 minutes a game, but he’s averaging almost 15 points per game. His quickness and scoring ability would only help the Wolves starters, who have struggled at times on offense this season and have always had either an ineffective Kevin Martin or a complete non-factor (offensively) in Tayshaun Prince on the floor.

LaVine is one of the future stars of this team. Why limit his formative years by keeping him on the bench? Or even worse, continue to have him play point guard. That could end up damaging him in the long run.
