#12 – Terrell Brandon

Brandon was acquired by the Timberwolves in 1999 as part of a three-team trade that saw promising young point guard Stephon Marbury shipped to the New Jersey Nets after he essentially forced his way out, not wanting to play in the shadow of Kevin Garnett.

At the time, Brandon was still just 28 years old and a two-time All-Star, being named to the Eastern Conference squad in his age-25 and age-26 seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Brandon was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks but only played in 50 games in 1997-98 before being shipped to Minnesota in the lockout-shortened 1998-99 campaign.

Injuries caused Brandon to never regain his All-Star form from the mid-90’s, but he still averaged 17.1 points and 8.9 assists per game over 71 contests in 1999-2000.

The rest of his career with the Wolves saw Brandon struggling to stay on the court, and over parts of four seasons in Minnesota, Brandon played in 202 games and averaged 15.6 points and 8.3 assists per game while shooting .450/.358/.895 for the Wolves (field goal, three-point, and free throw percentages). He was only 31 years old when he played in his last NBA game.

Brandon is easily a top-five point guard in Wolves history and was an efficient enough scorer to lock himself in at #12 in our rankings.
