Zach LaVine wins 2015 Slam Dunk Contest

The Slam Dunk Contest over the past few season has become more and more watered down. A lot of that has to do with the fact that dunks are no longer “creative” and it seems as though we’ve seen everything before. In 2015, Zach LaVine brought the Dunk Contest back to life with his transcendent performance.

In a crowded field that featured great dunkers like Victor Oladipo and Giannis Antetokounmpo, LaVine out shined them all with ease. He turned in probably the second best Dunk Contest performance in history, behind Vince Carter.

It’s clear that LaVine will be a mainstay in the contest for years to come as he heads to Toronto to defend his title this season. If I was a betting man, I’d say LaVine will put down some insane dunks and probably will retain his title.
