Comparing the Timberwolves to Each Eighth-Seed
Gorgui Dieng vs. Marcus Morris vs. Donatas Motiejunas
Earlier, I disagreed with the general consensus when we looked at the small forward position. I thought that Andrew Wiggins was the best and Trevor Ariza was the least-talented of them.
Here, I’m not sure this ranking is entirely controversial. Dieng played very well, during his time this season. He averaged 10.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. While he did play well, I think Marcus Morris played much better.
Morris averaged 14.1 points per game this season while Donatas Motiejunas, averaged only 6.2 points per game. Morris is a major piece to the Pistons offense and perhaps that’s why I have him over Dieng.
Morris can hit the three with ease and is only going to have an expanded role next year. The Timberwolves still have to figure out if Dieng is a starter or a bench player.
