Comparing the Timberwolves to Each Eighth-Seed
Conclusion
The conclusion I came up with, is that the Timberwolves have arguably four of the best starters in the starting fives out of these three teams.
The Pistons and Rockets got to the playoffs with a 41-41 and 44-38 records, respectively. Minnesota boasted a 29-53 record. Despite the clear superstar talent that James Harden is and the experience of the Pistons, it’s kind of tough to understand why these teams made it but the Timberwolves were so far away.
The Timberwolves possess two future superstars in Wiggins and Karl Anthony-Towns, an above-average point guard in Rubio, and a likely future-All-Star in Zach Lavine.
Of course, the Timberwolves have to fix the bench, which is likely the main reason why the Pistons and Rockets made the playoffs and Minnesota didn’t. However, once they fix the bench, the T-wolves are in the playoffs.

A bold prediction: The Timberwolves will be in the playoffs next season. Wiggins and KAT will take even more strides forward in becoming a superstars and if the team can solidify the bench and power forward, there is no reason why they shouldn’t be in the playoffs.
