Key Reserves

With Ricky Rubio out on Sunday, reserve point guard Tyus Jones will be forced into a backup role. He hasn’t seen a lot of minutes this year but when he’s playing, nothing but positive things seem to happen with him on the floor.

Nemanja Bjelica has been struggling with his three-point shooting during the month of January. He’s shooting 20.8 percent (5-24) after hitting on 34.2 percent (13-38) of his threes during the month of December. The Wolves will need him to improve his shooting consistency going forward, starting with tonight’s game. His perimeter defense will also be needed to guard Danilo Gallinari and Nikola Jokic — a couple of big guys who can hit from outside.

Shabazz Muhammad has continued to play well off the bench but still lacks the consistent aggression off the bench that the Wolves desperately need. With his name being attached to the recent Ricky Rubio trade rumors, it’ll be interesting to see if his play is affected.
